How will my benefits change.....?

I am currently claiming from the Social Security (income support, housing benefit) as a single mother, although my partner and other young son are soon due to join me. I have lost my job as a teacher due to cutbacks and so far haven't succeeded in finding any other work, my partner by law cannot work for 6 months- am I still entitled to claim financial support: if so, how will my benefit intitlement be effected?
