Will America's economy ever fully rebound again, or will it get even worse?

With all of the recent news regarding the debt ceiling crisis, gas prices, overall inflation, continued devastating housing markets, education cutbacks, possibility of the dollar no longer the world currency, three simultaneous wars, american's never more convinced gov't is corrupted, and china becoming the new official "biggest economy", what will our future look like, will we get creative and stay on the edge, or will we lose our status, as there is little now that we can do to solve such huge setbacks?...Remember, the Great Depression didn't have a "China" or any comparable country breathing down its back...
