Can the police charge me?

i was recently out at a bonfire party and it got broken up by cops and me and a couple of friend ran. we got away and we went to a local shot to get picked up by a friend. we wait there for a 10-15 min (note that this is at 2 am way past curfew). a police officer rolls up puts us in cuffs and searches us. the police officer finds unused baggies along with a dutch and some money i had in my pocket. they took down my information and called my parents to pick me up. i am a minor in the state of new jersey. when my parents arrived the police officer told them that i would have to go to court for dealing drugs. can the police really take me to court even though i had no marijuana on me? and also can they charge me eve though they did not take me down to the station for processing?
