Can i pay for myself to do nvq 3 in hospital setting. nhs no longer funding due to cutbacks?

i work for nhs hospital i have done nvq 2 and wish to complete nvq 3 in order to achive senior role, however due to cut backs within nhs they are no longer funding. Can i pay and do it privately whilst still e working for nhs? thanks anyone who can help
